Pigment raises $250 million at $2.3 billion valuation as EQT fund leads and Nvidia lines up

Pigment raised a $250 million Series E at a $2.3 billion valuation, led by EQT's Scaleup Europe Fund, with a planned Nvidia investment still unfinalised.

Paris just got a very shiny new number. Pigment, the AI business planning platform, announced a $250 million Series E at a $2.3 billion valuation today.

The round was led by the Scaleup Europe Fund, managed by EQT, with WIL (World Innovation Lab) and existing investors Greenoaks, ICONIQ, IVP and Meritech. Nvidia is planning an investment too, but The Next Web reports its stake is not finalised and the amount was not disclosed. Total funding now stands near $600 million since 2019, following a $145 million Series D in April 2024.

The company says it passed $100 million in annual recurring revenue earlier this year, doubling year over year, and that 85% of new metrics on its platform are created by an agent. L'Oréal is replacing its salary planning tool for its 95,000+ employees with Pigment. Customers also include Siemens, Unilever, Snowflake and, yes, Anthropic.

The context is delicious. The Scaleup Europe Fund is backed by the European Commission alongside Allianz and Novo Holdings, targets €5 billion, and aims to keep fast-growing European tech companies from raising money abroad. Bloomberg Tech framed the raise as taking on Microsoft; Pigment's own materials emphasize replacing legacy planning tools and do not name Microsoft.

My take: European public money, a Paris founder story and Nvidia at the door, all for budgeting software. Planning has never looked this glamorous.

85% of new metrics being created by an agent tells us who builds them, not whether they are right. The ARR doubling is company-reported, and Nvidia's check still has no number attached.

The practical bit is the direct Claude connection, so teams can plan from tools they already use. The announcement lists no pricing.
