Legora raises $550 million at $8.8 billion valuation, up from March
Legal AI startup Legora raised a $550 million Series E at an $8.8 billion valuation, led by Atreides Management, months after its March round.

Legora just did it again, and bigger. The legal AI startup announced today, October 21, a $550 million Series E at an $8.8 billion post-money valuation, according to Legal IT Insider. Bloomberg Tech also reported the raise.
Atreides Management led the round. New investors include Baron Capital, Capital Group, Fidelity Management & Research Company, Glade Brook Capital Partners and J.P. Morgan. Every major existing backer is in too, from Accel and Benchmark to General Catalyst and Salesforce Ventures.
The step up is steep. In March Legora also raised $550 million, at $5.55 billion according to City A.M. (Legal IT Insider puts it at $5.6 billion). The company says its ARR went from $1 million to $100 million in under 18 months and now tops $200 million. It was founded in 2023 and launched its platform in October 2024. It now has more than 1,000 employees across 18 offices and serves over 140,000 legal professionals at more than 2,400 law firms and in-house teams in over 80 markets.
The money goes to expansion in North America, Europe and Asia-Pacific, plus the Legora aOS, its agentic operating system, with products like agentic in-take, horizon scanning and legal research. "The opportunity in legal is enormous and we are still early," said CEO and co-founder Max Junestrand.
My take: same check size as March, a dramatically bigger price tag, and the whole room showed up again. That is what a vote of confidence looks like, darlings.
