Odyssey-3 world model opens in preview with a disputed physics-record claim

Odyssey opens a research preview of Odyssey-3, a real-time world model that claims a 66.1 Physics-IQ record. The unselected four-run average is 63.37.

Odyssey opened a research preview of Odyssey-3 earlier this month, calling it "our most powerful foundation world model yet." It is an autoregressive diffusion transformer that generates embodied environments in real time from text prompts. The free online demo runs on a distilled variant, Odyssey-3 Flash, according to The Decoder.

Odyssey-3 Pro scored 66.1 on Physics-IQ Verified video-to-video, which Odyssey calls the highest reported score. Image-to-video came in at 54.7. On WorldMark, Odyssey says Odyssey-3 ranks first in three of four categories and third in first-person real (80.6).

Now the footnote. The Decoder reports that 66.1 came from a single run with best-of-eight selection, while the benchmark rules require four runs with standard deviation for a record claim. Without selection, Pro averaged 63.37 across four runs.

Odyssey says tens of hours of robot demonstrations were enough for manipulation tasks, including recovery behaviors absent from those demonstrations. A driving policy trained on 20 hours of data steered a car on real roads in India. The Decoder reports the base model has 14 billion parameters and renders 832x480; Pro renders 1280x720.

Context: Odyssey raised $310 million in June at a $1.45 billion valuation, and last month AMD agreed to buy World Labs for about $8.2 billion in stock, TNW reports.

My take: 63.37 is a perfectly respectable number. Call it that, and let the record wait for a result that meets the rules.
