Nvidia expands Nemotron to PCs with Super VL and Bolt open models
Nvidia unveiled Nemotron 3.5 Super VL and two Bolt edge models for always-on and on-device agents. Super VL and Bolt 74B are available now; E4B arrives Oct. 23.

Nvidia released Nemotron 3.5 Super VL, an open 120-billion-parameter vision-language model built for specialized always-on agents. Two edge models join it: Nemotron 3.5 Bolt 74B-A9B 24GB for local agentic workloads, and Bolt E4B 4GB for conversational agents. Super VL and the 74B are available now. E4B arrives October 23.
The numbers are Nvidia's. It says Super VL delivers accuracy comparable to its largest reasoning model on multimodal agentic tasks at roughly one-fifth the parameter count, with up to 5x faster throughput than others in its class on the Artificial Analysis Intelligence Index leaderboard. The 74B uses native 2-bit quantization to fit in 24GB of memory, and Nvidia calls it the #1 open model in its class on PinchBench and #2 among open models on BrowseComp. It supports llama.cpp, Ollama, LM Studio, Unsloth and vLLM, and was built for the RTX Spark laptops slated for October 16.
The context: these are the first Nvidia models since it agreed to acquire Hugging Face last month, according to TechTarget. Kari Briski, Nvidia's VP of generative AI software for enterprise, said interest in Nemotron is rising because it is U.S.-made and its data can be inspected.
My take: "comparable" and "in its class" are doing the heavy lifting. The announcement gives no active versus total parameter breakdown. Show me how that class is defined. Show me the eval, not the vibe.

Open models that help sell more chips: the most glamorous business plan in the building. I adore the logic.
74B in 24GB, on Hugging Face now, with llama.cpp and Ollama support. I'll pull it. E4B is October 23.
