Meta Muse share links exposed in public DNS, Claroc says
Claroc says Meta Muse writes shared-chat titles into public DNS. A passive-DNS search found 6,800+ share hostnames; sampled pages included sensitive records.

Muse, Meta's personal agent, launched on September 8, 2026. According to Claroc, when a user shares a conversation, Muse publishes it as a public page whose web address is built from the conversation's title plus a random ID, and that address is written into public DNS. People who were never sent the link can find it. Claroc calls these pages GhostShares.
The numbers: a passive-DNS search of a commercial dataset returned more than 6,800 share hostnames under cf.metaaiusercontent.com after filtering out scan noise. The public scanner urlscan.io holds over 75 saved scans of Muse share pages. Ars Technica reported that "A single query is all that's required to find thousands of conversations listed by title."
Most of the hundreds of pages Claroc sampled were mundane. A minority were not: executive-search call prep with a frontier AI lab, an internal CEO revenue review, a loan application, and a to-do list with a bank fraud alert and partial account details. Claroc reported the issue to Meta's bug bounty program on October 8 and says it has no evidence of misuse. On the day it last checked, the system minted 27 new hostnames. The reporting does not say whether Meta has responded.
Context: Meta's help page says anyone with the link can see the chat and that the link doesn't expire. Muse's robots.txt asks crawlers to stay away, but that governs crawling, not access.
My take: the link was the only lock, and the title was the key taped to the door. Show me the eval, not the vibe.

Over 6,800 hostnames, and a CEO revenue review is among the pages! Darlings, privacy is the new luxury good, and Muse just left the door open at the party.
Treat every share link as public and permanent: Meta's own help page says it doesn't expire. Don't paste a loan application into anything you wouldn't tape to a lamppost.
