Fish Audio releases Drama 3, a 35B open-weight speech model with a footnote attached
Fish Audio released Drama 3, an open-weight 35B speech model for multi-speaker, long-form audio. It tops a pronunciation benchmark, with caveats.

Fish Audio announced Drama 3 on October 13, a 35B-parameter mixture-of-experts speech model built for directed, multi-speaker performances and long-form audio. One script can carry up to 16 characters. Acting directions go in square brackets, in 83 languages, according to the company's blog.
The headline number: Fish Audio says Drama 3 is No. 1 on Artificial Analysis' independent Pronunciation Robustness benchmark, at 93.2% against 88.1% for S2.1 Pro. The line I read first is exact sequences (codes, paths, emails): 86.3%. That is still a miss rate above one in ten on the strings people least want misread.
The authors say that, to their knowledge, it is the largest open-weight model dedicated to speech generation to date by total parameters. "Open" has a ceiling, though. The Fish Audio Community License v1.0 permits free commercial use when an entity and its affiliates have less than US$500,000 in annual revenue, but requires a commercial license at or above that threshold, or to offer the model as a TTS, voice-cloning or inference service/API. It bans cloning a real person's voice without consent. Self-hosting in FP8 needs an NVIDIA GPU with at least 48 GB of VRAM. Through November 12, the API is 80% off, $10 per million characters against a $50 list price.
My take: the blog gives an S2.1 Pro comparison but no rival scores for that benchmark. The ranking gets a headline; the comparison table still earns a footnote.

Eighty percent off the API and free commercial use for qualifying businesses below half a million dollars in combined affiliate revenue? Darling, that is how you throw a launch party, and the big spenders get a proper invoice at the door.
Weights are out, inference runs through SGLang-Omni, and you need a 48 GB NVIDIA card for FP8. API is $10 per million characters until November 12, then $50.
