SanDisk beats estimates and guides higher as AI data centers squeeze memory supply

SanDisk posted $11 billion in fiscal Q1 revenue, guided higher on AI data-center demand and announced an 8-for-1 stock split effective November 19.

SanDisk just delivered a gilded quarter. Fiscal first-quarter revenue was $11 billion against $10.7 billion expected, according to Yahoo Finance. MarketWatch reported net income of $8.1 billion, or $52.60 a share, up from $112 million, or 75 cents, a year earlier. Investing.com puts non-GAAP earnings at $49.51 a share versus $47.15 expected, with non-GAAP gross margin at 85.1%.

The engine is the data center. That division's revenue rose 61% sequentially to $4.80 billion, Investing.com reported. CEO David Goeckeler credited "robust and growing demand for our products driving outpaced growth in our data center business."

The outlook is richer still. According to Yahoo Finance, second-quarter revenue guidance is $12.2 billion to $12.6 billion, and adjusted earnings guidance is $55.00 to $57.00 a share pre-split, both with midpoints above Wall Street forecasts. An eight-for-one forward split takes effect November 19.

The context: MarketWatch noted that capacity has remained constrained, "giving suppliers significant leverage in price negotiations with customers." Yahoo Finance put the stock's 2026 year-to-date gain at more than 460% and says shares climbed in extended trading; Investing.com says they edged down 1.8%.

My take: an 85% gross margin on memory is not a component business, it is a toll booth on the AI boom, and SanDisk is collecting in style.

Two first-quarter EPS figures ($52.60 and $49.51) and three different Street estimates for next quarter's earnings ($53.30, $53.60, $54.69). A beat is easy to find when the bar keeps moving.

Capacity is constrained and suppliers hold pricing leverage, so plan for storage to cost more. The reports give no per-unit prices, so check your own quotes.
