Alibaba Launches Qwen N1 AI Glasses, N1 Pro With Eye Tracking

Alibaba's Qwen N1 and N1 Pro AI glasses add 50MP cameras and swappable batteries. Bloomberg says from about $450; Sina Finance lists 2,218 yuan.

Alibaba put its Qwen AI on your face on Tuesday. At the Qwen AI Hardware 2026 launch event, the company introduced the N1 and N1 Pro glasses, built around what it calls a Personal Agent concept: AI that serves you proactively instead of waiting to be asked.

According to Sina Finance's launch report, both models carry a three-chip computing platform, a 50MP sensor, 4K recording, automatic meeting minutes, travel reminders, translation and an AI memo app. Batteries swap out of the temples, with rated combined battery life of 9 hours on the N1 and 8 on the Pro. The Pro adds eye tracking, iris-verified payment and health monitoring (heart rate, blood oxygen, skin temperature) in a gold-plated Boston frame. The N1 cuts all three.

Now the price, and it is a mess. Sina Finance lists the N1 from 2,218 yuan and the Pro from 2,600 yuan. Bloomberg reported about $450 for the N1 and about $520 for the Pro, plus Qwen Clip earbuds. Those do not line up, and the coverage does not explain the gap or say whether the glasses sell outside China.

Bloomberg calls this an expanding push into gadgets. Song Gang, a vice president in Alibaba's Qwen business unit, said AI hardware will start a human-computer interaction revolution.

My take: swappable temple batteries are the one feature I would actually want. Pay with your iris after you tell me which price is real.

A gold-plated frame, iris payment and a gadget push from one of the biggest names in the room: this is how you launch hardware! Lovely, glittering, and apparently priced in at least two currencies.

Eye tracking, iris verification and health monitoring are listed as features. The announcement gives no benchmark for any of them, and the Pro's "five major innovations" are only three on the page.
