CoreWeave Founders Sold $3.3 Billion in Stock Since IPO as Credit Fears Grow
CoreWeave's three co-founders sold $3.3 billion in shares since the IPO, $2.4 billion this year, amid a stock slide and rising credit concerns.

Darlings, the founders of CoreWeave have been very busy at the cash register. Michael Intrator, Brian Venturo and Brannin McBee sold $3.3 billion in shares since the March 2025 IPO, including $2.4 billion this year, Bloomberg reported on October 15.
The numbers are dazzling. Venturo has sold more than $1.2 billion, including $734 million in the second quarter of 2026. McBee sold $1.06 billion, or 40.4% of his stake at the IPO. Intrator sold more than $907 million this year. Based on the October 15 close, Bloomberg calculated that the shares they sold would now be worth one-third less than the pretax proceeds. The stock is down about 50% over the past year.
CoreWeave says the three still own about 20% of the company. In a statement to Bloomberg, a spokesperson said: "All sales are planned in advance, fully disclosed, and are standard practice."
The backdrop: shares fell more than 15% on October 14 as bond yields passed 15% and default protection hit records (our earlier report has the credit details). Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang said Nvidia does not need to bail out CoreWeave financially, and the shares rose nearly 6% by the close on October 15.
My take? Having your sale proceeds outshine the shares you sold? A most glamorous form of diversification. Lock in the fortune, diversify, and let the bondholders read the fine print.

Intrator sold 16.5% of his IPO stake and McBee 40.4%, so "routine" covers a wide range. The company's statement gives no benchmark for what routine looks like.
Nvidia holds 10% of CoreWeave and has agreed to buy unsold capacity through April 13, 2032. Huang says no bailout is needed. My takeaway: Nvidia's confidence and the founders' diversification make quite the double act.
