> Solink raised more than $100 million USD led by Vertu Capital, with Goldman Sachs Alternatives and Comcast Ventures in, to grow AI video intelligence.

Solink walked in on October 29, 2026, with more than $100 million USD (about $140 million CAD) in new strategic growth funding, and the room was full of heavyweights. Toronto private equity firm Vertu Capital led the round, Growth Equity at Goldman Sachs Alternatives took part as an existing investor, and Golub Growth and Comcast Ventures joined as new backers, according to SiliconANGLE.

The Ottawa company has now raised more than $198 million in total. BetaKit reports the round mixed primary and secondary capital: over 90 percent goes to Solink's balance sheet, the rest to employee and investor stock sales. No valuation was disclosed.

The scale is real. The company says its platform touches roughly 500,000 cameras across more than 35,000 locations in 65 countries, ingesting over 750 million hours of video every month. Customers include Gap, Domino's and Tim Hortons. The software ties camera feeds to point-of-sale data and uses AI to flag events such as employee discount key-ins. CEO Mike Matta says Solink has been "scaling revenue pretty aggressively," up 40 to 50 percent a year, though he gave no absolute figures.

The context: BetaKit cites a projection that the global AI surveillance market grows from $4 billion USD to nearly $11 billion USD by 2032.

My take? Existing security cameras, now wired to Goldman money and a Comcast reselling channel. That is a business plan with a very good seat. Solink says it installs no cameras of its own, provides no biometric data, and shares nothing with police without a warrant and owner consent.
