Bengaluru's Scimplify just raised $25 million, and the guest list is gorgeous. According to NILE1, Hitachi Ventures led the all-equity round, with customers Henkel and Teknor Apex joining as first-time investors and Accel India, Bertelsmann India Investments, Omnivore and 3one4 Capital returning. The startup says total equity funding now stands at $80 million. It declined to disclose a valuation, but a person familiar with the deal told NILE1 it is $250 million, up from $150 million at the $40 million Series B in March 2025.

Now the numbers, darlings. Scimplify says annualized revenue has reached $200 million, tripling year over year across more than 1,000 clients, with a target of $400 million over the next twelve months. Customers outside India now generate more than half of revenue, against under 5% eighteen months ago, and the U.S. run rate is about $60 million. The company says it has posted positive EBITDA for two months and projected reaching net profitability in October 2026.

The spending plan: about $7.5 million goes to a U.S. manufacturing network over the next year, alongside an expansion into Japan, and $2 million to platform development.

The context is the point. Scimplify uses an asset-light model rather than operating heavy manufacturing plants itself; its scientists develop synthesis routes in Bengaluru and Hyderabad and match them with partner factories, and about 90% of manufacturing happens in India. It is also working on tungsten derivatives from scrap and on rare earth elements, to reduce exposure to Chinese mining and export restrictions.

My take: for buyers seeking a door out of China-linked supply chains, a startup with BASF, TDK and Hitachi on its client list is a very well-dressed proposition.
