OpenAI announced Private Intelligence, a business offering it says "gives businesses stronger controls over their data while using our most capable models." The company framed it with a slogan: "Privacy should advance as fast as intelligence."

The announcement came in an X post from @OpenAI, which links to a product page at openai.com/business/private-intelligence. The post had 747 likes and 69,059 views when the numbers were recorded.

OpenAI says it is "building these protections in close collaboration with some of our largest customers to help businesses apply frontier AI to their most sensitive work." Note the tense: building. No rollout timeline in the post.

Here is what the post does not include. It does not say which security or privacy mechanisms are involved. It names no customers. It gives no pricing, availability or rollout timeline, and it does not say which models count as the "most capable."

My sticking point: how much sensitive data would I trust to a hosted model? Controls are the right thing to promise.

My take: I like the direction. But there is no spec, no docs and no price per token in the post, so the post gives me no practical basis for an installation plan or a budget. Call me when there is a repo, or at least a pricing page.
