# OpenAI adds parallel agents to GPT-6 Astra Pro in ChatGPT

OpenAI has upgraded GPT-6 Astra Pro in ChatGPT, and the headline feature is delegation. According to OpenAI's post on X, multiple agents can now tackle different parts of a task in parallel. You can follow each agent's progress and open completed tasks to review the work. The upgrade also brings faster responses and improved use of plugins and tools.

It is available to Pro users in the Chat tab. The OpenAI Help Center release notes add a catch: availability in managed workspaces depends on workspace settings and rollout eligibility. The notes also call the model "GPT-6 Pro," while the post says "GPT-6 Astra Pro."

Now the gaps. The announcement gives no benchmark for "faster," no price, no list of compatible plugins or third-party tools, and no stated limit on how many agents can run at once. OpenAI's post accumulated 1,216 likes and 52,523 views: engagement numbers, not a performance benchmark.

Context: OpenAI has also introduced "dots," always-on agents powered by GPT-6 Astra, each with its own cloud computer. They are rolling out gradually to eligible Pro and Business Premium users aged 18 and older in supported markets. Pro access excludes the European Economic Area, Switzerland and the UK at launch.

My take: parallel agents are the part worth your time, because splitting a job and reviewing the pieces is how real work gets done. But I want the agent ceiling and the bill before I hand it a repo.
