# Mercedes-Benz and NVIDIA extend their automated driving partnership for the next decade

Mercedes-Benz and NVIDIA said today they will extend their strategic partnership to build the next generation of automated driving and driver-assistance systems over the coming decade, according to NVIDIA's announcement.

The stack: Mercedes-Benz engineering and MB.OS, combined with NVIDIA Hyperion compute and sensor architecture, Alpamayo Stack software and the Halos safety system. Alpamayo is full-stack driving software with AI reasoning, covering point-to-point urban assistance, active safety and automated parking. Halos is a parallel safety stack that adds redundancy and guardrails. The stated targets are advanced driver assistance and future SAE-Level 4 applications, including robolimousines.

Jörg Burzer, in the announcement: "NVIDIA is our most important strategic partner in automated driving." Mercedes-Benz also uses NVIDIA for engineering simulation and inside MO360, its digital production ecosystem.

The numbers are thin. The announcement gives no dollar figure, no investment and no Level 4 launch date. The only figures are Mercedes-Benz AG's own: around 164,000 employees, more than 2.1 million cars and vans sold in 2025, around 30 production sites on four continents.

Context: at CES 2026, Nvidia said its Drive AV software would debut in the all-new CLA with Level 2++ point-to-point assistance, according to Just Auto. The new announcement does not say how Alpamayo Stack relates to Drive AV.
