> Circuit Mind raised $25 million, including an $18.5 million Norwest-led Series A, to expand its AI circuit board design platform and open a U.S. headquarters.

Circuit Mind, the London startup that uses AI to design circuit boards, announced $25 million in new financing on Wednesday, bringing its total raised to $33.4 million. Splendid.

The $25 million is an $18.5 million Series A led by Norwest plus an earlier, previously unannounced seed round led by Third Prime, according to TNW. Third Prime, Differential and Blackhorn returned for the Series A, joined by new investor Lightscape VC. Norwest general partner Dave Zilberman joins the board.

Now the numbers the company is waving. Circuit Mind says enterprise customers have cut design time from months to weeks and reduced bill of materials costs by 25%. Norwest cites a Los Alamos National Laboratory evaluation in which the platform completed roughly 90% of a production-representative PCB schematic in just over four hours, against an estimated 60 to 80 hours of manual work. Alongside the round, the company launched its Agentic Verification Engine, a swarm of AI agents that checks schematics against component datasheets and design rules.

The money goes to extending the platform across the design lifecycle, hiring in sales, engineering and customer success, and setting up a U.S. headquarters. Axios reported a U.S. relocation; the company's own materials describe a headquarters to serve North America. Which U.S. city, and whether London stays, is not stated.

Context: Norwest says engineers spend over a billion hours a year designing circuit boards.

My take: a billion hours is a gorgeous market, and a London startup with a Los Alamos result is heading for America with $25 million in its pocket. I adore it.
