# Unconfirmed: Bloomberg source says Anthropic is SpaceX's 'Customer B'

Bloomberg reported October 29, 2026 that Anthropic is SpaceX's largest single customer, accounting for more than a third of the company's third-quarter revenue. The claim comes from a person familiar with the matter, who declined to be identified because the details are private, so it stays unconfirmed. The filing lists that client only as "Customer B." Bloomberg attributes the identification of "Customer B" as Anthropic to that anonymous source.

Bloomberg also says Anthropic's payments have surpassed those from the U.S. federal government, previously SpaceX's largest single customer. Anthropic's IPO disclosures, according to the report, show it agreed to spend as much as $120.5 billion on computing contracts with SpaceX running through 2029. That works out to about $3.1 billion a month starting in December. The capacity sits in SpaceX data centers in Memphis, Tennessee.

The report adds that SpaceX's AI business turned profitable for the first time last quarter, feeding Elon Musk's target of $100 billion in annualized revenue by the end of 2026.

The coverage includes no statement from SpaceX, Musk or Anthropic confirming or denying the identification. It also does not provide SpaceX's total third-quarter revenue or Anthropic's exact payment. The filing's 34.5% is consistent with Bloomberg's "more than a third."

The exit terms are fuzzy too. Bloomberg says the contracts let Anthropic terminate on 90 days' notice beginning in early 2027. TipRanks, citing TheFly, describes it as 90 days' notice "after certain dates." The coverage does not spell out the triggers or conditions.
