> SpaceX says one client supplied 34.5% of Q3 revenue; Bloomberg reports Anthropic is Customer B, a bill now bigger than the U.S. government's.

SpaceX told the world last week that about 34.5% of its revenue last quarter came from a single client paying its AI division, now called Super Intelligence, for computing power. Bloomberg reported, citing a person familiar with the matter, that the client the filing calls only "Customer B" is Anthropic.

Semafor put it plainly: "Anthropic became SpaceX’s biggest customer, accounting for a third of sales last quarter, underscoring the intense concentration of the tech market." One lab now pays for a third of a rocket company. Sit with that.

## Who is Customer B, and who says so

A note of order before the champagne. The identification rests on an anonymous source who declined to be named because the details are private. A representative for Anthropic declined to comment, and a SpaceX spokesperson did not respond to requests for comment. Golden Era's [report on the unconfirmed Customer B](https://goldenera.si/news/anthropic-spacex-customer-b-unconfirmed/) notes that the coverage includes no statement from SpaceX, Musk or Anthropic confirming or denying it.

Still, two outlets are treating it as settled, and the numbers around it hang together beautifully.

## The numbers, and they are big

SpaceX's Super Intelligence segment reported $7.56 billion in third-quarter revenue, up 830% from a year earlier. That is more than the combined $7.02 billion from the other two segments: Connectivity, up 68% to $5.25 billion, and Space, up 6% to $1.77 billion.

According to Bloomberg Línea, Anthropic's payments have now surpassed those of the U.S. federal government, previously SpaceX's largest single customer. Only two customers made up more than 10% of Q3 revenue. The government-related one accounted for 16.6%, down from roughly 20% in 2025. Musk has projected that NASA will be under 5% of SpaceX revenue in 2026.

The AI division also turned profitable for the first time in Q3, according to Bloomberg Línea, which supports Musk's target of a $100 billion annualized revenue run-rate by the end of 2026.

And the meter keeps running. Anthropic's IPO disclosures show it has committed to spend up to $120.5 billion under contracts through 2029, about $3.1 billion a month starting December 2026. SpaceX also reported a separate deal worth $1.25 billion per month to use about 325,000 GPUs from Nvidia. On the financing side, SpaceX struck a $40 billion agreement with Apollo to pay for AI chips.

## How a rocket company became a landlord

SpaceX acquired Musk's AI company xAI less than a year before these disclosures. Bloomberg Línea reports that Musk has been turning the AI business into a "neocloud," renting data center capacity to clients including Anthropic and Alphabet's Google. Anthropic signed agreements earlier this year to use computing power from SpaceX data centers in Memphis, Tennessee.

Musk has opinions about the neighbors. He posted on X that debt markets have largely shut off financing to companies without substantial revenue outside AI data centers, noting that SpaceX has Starlink and launch revenue. His prediction: more than 200 neocloud firms face a die-off and consolidation, and not many will survive.

## The catch in the contract

The dependence runs both ways, and the exit door is visible. Bloomberg Línea reports that Anthropic can terminate its SpaceX contracts on 90 days' notice, starting in January 2027 and March 2027 respectively. TipRanks/TheFly describes the right more vaguely as termination on 90 days' notice "after certain dates," without naming the months. The coverage does not give the conditions attached to that right.

Anthropic also keeps contracts with other neocloud providers, including Nscale and Lambda. So the biggest customer has a plan B, and a plan C.

The tangle does not stop there. Anthropic itself revealed in an IPO prospectus this week, Semafor reports, that almost half of its revenue comes from fellow tech giants Amazon, Google and Microsoft. Money moves in a tight circle among a handful of very large names.

Bridgewater, in a note to clients, was blunt: "Concentration and acceleration are also risky in their own right." It added: "They mean that more plain luck is needed to keep economies chugging."

## What to watch

- **Confirmation.** Whether SpaceX, Musk or Anthropic ever says on the record that Anthropic is Customer B.
- **The dollars.** The coverage does not give SpaceX's exact total Q3 revenue or the exact amount Anthropic paid.
- **January and March 2027.** The first termination windows. Whatever Anthropic does with them will tell us how sticky this relationship really is.
- **December 2026.** The month the roughly $3.1 billion monthly commitment begins, per the IPO disclosures.

A third of a company's sales from one customer is either a triumph or a trapdoor. The filing does not say which. The next two quarters will.
